The Great Balanzo is a one-man circus show that is also a story about the imaginative ways to overcome everyday challenges we all face. Balanzo has traveled the world and arrives in Canada for in search of a place to call home. As he unpacks his suitcases a magical world literally unfolds, and with the help of audience members he learns what it means to be a good neighbour in this strange and exciting world. Hailing from a musical family, veteran leader of Vancouver’s inimitable Carnival Band, Tim Sars has over a decade of experience entertaining and engaging kids and their families with fun, spirited, and participatory music. When Tim teams up with brother Nathan and two more are added rounding out a quartet, they become the group called Tiny Islands.
In 2017, Canada will celebrate its 150th Anniversary. Canadians have invented many things in various fields and industries including the lightbulb, zipper, and basketball. We seldom get much acknowledgement for these inventions but they helped I identify who we are. Made in Canada is an improv comedy show based on a wide array of Canadian-driven inventions. Content will also be generated by the audience through suggestions and participation.
