Daniel Packard

Teenage Survival Guide

Daniel Packard is an internationally-known touring comedian who hit the comedy stage for the first time at age 16. From being a comedian, he learned to be confident, thoughtful, spontaneous, and discovered that humor is very powerful for inspiring, motivating, and teaching young people how to communicate. In 2007, Daniel was named Speaker of the Year by the Canadian Organization of Campus Activities (previous winners include Jean Chretien, George Stroumboulopoulos, and Gloria Steinem).

The Teenage Survival Guide is for students who are either teenagers or on the cusp of becoming one, and deals with such issues as cyber-bullying, homophobia, and gender relations. Daniel's performances for young audiences illustrate how to deal with, fear, insecurity, and rejection, all of which get in the way of realizing one's potential. Espousing the philosophy that humor is very accessible and all around us, Daniel Packard demonstrates how tapping into the ability to laugh at oneself helps us to grow.
